Managing sadness

As I face death in my family, I can feel the reaction in my tension, my aches and how my face wears my sadness.  Middle of the night trips to doctors, helping with bathing, healthy food preparation, sleeping with my telephone under my pillow and the painful sense of anticipated loneliness take quite a toll.....on my self care, my sleep, my diet and on my skin.  Sometimes I had felt no coping mechanisms as I manage the care of others and I watch my face becoming haggard and sallow in ways that make up cannot disguise.     This is the perceptible impact of grief.  I have learned that my doctor can't always help.  My girlfriends can't always help.  TV cosmetic ads can't always help. Depression medicine can't always help.  Medication for anxiety can't always help.......................  Renee helps.     Renee at Nordstrom teaches me daily to eat well and exercise, rest as much as possible and take care of my skin regularly.  Renee teaches me about the connection between appearance and emotion.  She doesn't just give me suggestions to care for my skin but in dereference to preparation for a different kind of life, she encourages me to adjust to a new skin care routine that encourages me to pay attention to more than my tears.  Every time I talk with Renee, she teaches me to think differently, plan differently and live differently.     Now I am learning to pay more attention to exercise, healthy food and time for myself to think about today's life, tomorrow's life at, at times, facing my future with more confidence.  I am overwhelmingly grateful to Renee.  My sense of loss is not gone but my skin is getting smoother and tighter aand my emotional fatigue is more hidden.  I can face the future with more self assurance.       I hope you have a Renee in your life.  If you do not, I would be pleased to help you contact mine.  She works all over the country to help others so that skin doesn't have to wear your grief.
