DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO EACH MINUTE

I spend much blog time discussing the causes and feelings of stress. Let's spend some review time looking at the things we can do to relieve tension. We have many options for accomplishing this. To counteract strain, I have done yoga, meditation, played the piano, taken long walks or a hot bath with luscious bath oils.

Additional lessons to bring a sense of calm may, at first, appear to be unmanageable tasks, but, when you make them a part of your day to day lifestyle, you will find that you will get where you want to go with less anxiety. I have had the good fortune to review some productive hints from Forbes Magazine:

1. Do things in the style of Kathy Ireland who has advised that you "dare to fail. If you never fail, it means that you are not trying hard enough." Making mistakes is part of the learning process. Never be ashamed of making a mistake. When you do, learn from it and just move on.

2. Do things in a new and different way. Stretch yourself to more expanded limits.

3. Visualize yourself as successful. See yourself doing what you want to do in a successful manner. Visualize it daily. Many professional athletes have accomplished their goals by visualizing themselves running faster, batting more accurately or jumping higher.

4. Recognize the powerful influence of massage. It tames stress and clears toxins from your body. If you get regular massage, you will see a drop in your stress level and improvement in your skin. It does not have to be the most expensive. You can arrange for a brief massage that lasts only a few minutes or you can go to a massage school and get massage from a student. Also, consider getting regular facials to improve the quality of your skin as well as the quality of your life. If you cannot afford a professional facial, you can learn how to give them to yourself at home. This can be a very relaxing experience.

5. Stop being worried excessively about what others think of you. Generally, when you think someone is looking at your less than perfect qualities, they are focused on their own imperfections.

6. Pay attention to your personal presentation. This does not have to mean wearing expensive clothes. It is about being well groomed and well mannered so that you can exhibit yourself beautifully to the world. Make looking presentable a priority. Honor yourself and those with whom you come in contact by paying attention to your appearance. Value the way you present yourself to others so you will never have to worry about making a bad first visual impression. If you always look your best, you can reduce your tension because you will feel more confident. Looking your best is a matter of self-respect and respect for everyone with whom you come in contact.
