NEVER AGAIN

My head is flooded with memories of family visits to Pittsburgh and vacation joy in California. It is also deluged with memories of conversations with Holocaust survivors and, as a Jewish woman, I find that the onslaught of news about violence during prayer holds a painful place in my heart. I grieve and pray for everyone who has been hurt by the ruthless cruelty suffered. If only I could lighten their pain and help them to find the strength to carry on. Yet, even while I am trying to write a meaningful message, it is clear to me that there are few words that can adequately express my feelings.
And how ashamed and humiliated I feel as I remember many times when I recall having heard words of demented, unsound hatred and said nothing to contest the insanity. On more than one occasion, I have silently listened. Never again will I remain silent in the company of those who perpetrate hate. So much sorrow fills my heart for the appalling acts of violence that characterize our news as well as my own decisions to remain less involved.
Join me in being sincerely candid and righteously outspoken. We can do more to help bring an end to homicidal rage.
Please share your own ideas about ending cruel indifference.
