Can You Really Smile When Someone Spits In Your Face

CAN YOU REALLY SMILE WHEN SOMEONE SPITS IN YOUR FACE?

Of course you can. Here's how -

1.) Take time to think before you blurt our your reactions. Just because you're dealing with Scrooge doesn't mean that you have to   be a copycat and be a meanie too. Aren't you bigger than that?

2.) Even when your own emotional pot is boiling, you don't have to let that show. You can appear to be calm and in control - even if you are the only one who knows that you may be putting on a bit of an act.

3.) Think about what may have made someone else become a distant and angry Scrooge. Have you ever felt that way? Are we not all entitled to our bad days? Remember that Scrooge was withholding and angry because he had been rejected by his own father and felt terribly insecure. His only feeling of security came with money - not people.

4.) Consider the possibility that the person who disagrees with you just may be right. Are you really superior to everyone, every time, everywhere?

5.) Whatever the subject...ask yourself if it is really worth an argument. Sometimes it may be better to agree to disagree.

6.) If you hope that the person with whom you are dealing will make some changes that may be more pleasing to you, be specific about the changes you want. For example, don't just tell someone that "I want you to be nicer to me." Instead - try "Please smile more often when you see me."

7.) Don't exchange nastiness for nastiness. It will always be a losing deal.

8.) If noting else works, "kill 'em with kindness." Being especially nice to people who is rude to you usually stops them in their tracks.
