Sometimes it is hard to feel comfortable without a personal counselor to confide in from time to time. Patty Wilkes Counseling is different from other consultations. From your very first appointment, you will have an experience that rivals other therapy services. I am Patty Wilkes, LICSW which indicates that I am a licensed clinical social worker, certified for private independent practice in the state of Alabama. With 35 years of experience treating adults and adolescents for a variety of issues, I am deeply passionate about helping others. If needed I am pleased to work cooperatively with your physician or attorney as indicated by your situational needs. Located within the city limits of Athens, Alabama, I also serve individuals in Decatur, Madison, Huntsville, Elkmont and surrounding areas.

One unique thing about my practice is that I schedule appointments to accommodate all patients' needs. I recognize that occupational obligations, school schedules, and family responsibilities are increasingly complex. My availability includes days, evenings and weekends for the convenience of my patients. After your initial intake appointment, therapy by telephone is also available.

My practice is fee for service and, for your privacy, does not involve any external insurance company. I accept both cash and checks. I charge a flat fee for office visits for whatever length of time is necessary (without interference from insurance companies). GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

In compliance with the No Surprises Act that went into effect January 1, 2022, all healthcare providers are required to notify clients of their Federal rights and protection against "surprise billing." The act requires that I notify clients of their federally protected rights to receive a notification when services are rendered by an out-of-network provider, if a client is uninsured or if a client elects not to use their insurance.  Additionally, I am required to provide my clients with a Good Faith Estimate of the cost of services (130. for each session unless a reduced fee is agreed upon between client and this provider.)  It is difficult to determine the true length of treatment for mental health care and each client has a right to decide how long they would like to participate in mental health care.  Above, you will see my fee schedule for counseling services and we will collaborate on a regular basis to determine how many sessions you may need.  You have a right to dispute a bill that exceeds your Good Faith Estimate.  You have a right to receive your Good Faith Estimate at least 3 business days before scheduling or resuming counseling care.  For questions about disputing the above process, please visit http//cms.gov.
